He was named in the 15-member squad for the three-match ODI series against India in June 2014. He picked up five wickets on debut, ruffling the Indian batsmen. Ahmed has been clocked at 145 km/h. Ahmed’s ability to bowl with a good burst of pace helped him to get selected in Bangladesh’s World Cup squad.

Taskin Ahmed is a young Bangladeshi cricketer and currently recognised as their quickest bowler. In domestic cricket, he plays for the Dhaka Metropolis, for whom he made his First-Class debut in 2011 against Barisal Division. He plays for the Chittagong Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League. In his second T20 game for them, he was named as the Man of the Match for his excellent figures of 4/31. Unfortunately, he was sidelined for nearly a year after the BPL in 2013 due to a knee injury, but he recovered from it to soon make his international debut for Bangladesh in the World T20 against Australia in 2014.
